I-265 Lewis and Clark Bridge over Ohio river and Drumanard Tunnel near Louisville, IL

Tunnel: (no Bridge Hunter; B&TSatellite)

 InfrastructureUSA has three videos.

This bridge was needed for a long time. But Louisville would not let it be built until they also got their second I-65 Bridge.

The toll is $1 for a car, and it uses EZ-Pass. The bridge itself was less than a quarter of the total project cost of $1b. That is, the roads on both sides to connect it to existing Interstates were expensive even though they are rather short. [B&T-bridge]
I remember seeing a link to an article that said Louisville now wants Kentucky and Federal taxpayers to make it toll-free.

"The approximately 5.5-mile overall project includes an extensive weaving of greenways and interchanges within Indiana and Kentucky, a 1700-foot tunnel under a nationally-registered historic property, numerous approach structures, and secondary bridges, and an extensive bicycle and pedestrian path. The main focus of the East End Crossing is the cable-stayed bridge, featuring two convex diamond-shaped towers, a 1200-foot main span, and two 540-foot back spans stretching across the beautiful Ohio River. The project reached substantial completion in December 2016."

The Lewis and Clark Bridge completes a limited access bypass around the city of Louisville. The bridge links Kentucky Highway 841 to Indiana Highway 265, creating an alternate route across the Ohio River. The total length of the cable-stayed structure is 2,280 ft (695 m) with a main span of 1,200 ft (365 m) providing a minimum clearance for the navigation channel of 900 ft x 71 ft (274 m x 22 m).  The 124 ft (38 m) wide superstructure carries six lanes of traffic and a 13 ft (4 m) wide pedestrian/bikeway. It is supported by two planes of stay cables in a harp arrangement anchored along the edges of the deck. The pylons have an arched diamond shape and adhere to the strict height limitations established by local stakeholders. Design-build project.

"The $1.1 billion East End Crossing project provides a new highway connection between Clark County, Indiana and Jefferson County, Kentucky, completing the I-265/KY-841/ IN-265 freeway corridor in the eastern suburbs of Louisville. The design-build project consists of a new toll bridge over the Ohio River named for the famed explorers Lewis and Clark, and approaches on both sides. It is part of the $2.3 billion Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, which also includes a new I-65 bridge connecting Louisville, KY and Jeffersonville, IN, and major highway improvements on both sides of the river. The sun sets on the Lewis and Clark Bridge back in May 2022.
This four-lane multi-modal crossing carries IN and KY Routes 265 over the Ohio River between Kentucky and Indiana. It's completion in 2016 completed the long-anticipated bypass of Louisville. At some point, it will be signed as Interstate 265 but no moves have been made to designate the bridge and approaches yet.

"The East End Crossing project is being delivered as an availability-pay design-build-finance-operate-maintain concession with a four-year construction and a 35-year operation term. The concessionaire will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the project with the exception of the Kentucky approach's tunnel, which will be maintained by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The East End Bridge (and Abraham Lincoln Bridge) will be tolled, with operations and toll collection managed by the State of Indiana. The concessionaire will be compensated with milestone payments during construction and availability payments during operation of the facility supported by tolls and traditional state revenues."
