It is hard to see in the photos, but the bridge is on a significant slant with a bluff on one end and a flood plain on the other.

74 YEARS OLD TODAY.
The bridge opened for business on February 26, 1952.
Construction started in 1949.
Was a toll bridge until 1961.
Also known as the George D. Stuart Bridge.

I walked across that bridge hundreds of times as a kid in the 70s before leaving the state, and I never knew it was slanted like that! Super cool!
