I see the Google Road Map still shows the branch but their satellite image shows the tracks have been removed from the street. This branch was part of
CB&Q and South Branch Dock Company 1860's "industrial park."
I know the tracks are now gone because I walked all over the intersection in this birds-eye view while I was taking pictures of
Lumber Street and of the
22nd Street Bridge.
A picture I happened to have taken of Cermak Road shows that the city has removed the tracks when they redid the entire street. In the past, there would have been tracks along the right (south) side of the street.
A picture of the left branch south of Canalport that now terminates at Cermak. But there is still a crossing signal!
Actually, a satellite image shows that crossing was for an industrial spur, and it was removed from the street rather recently. The Lumber District branch had already been removed.
I use a 1929 USGS topo map at 12,000 scale to show where the tracks use to run. Note that the South Branch had not yet been straightened.
