FWWR/Frisco 1902 Bridge over West Fork Trinity River in Fort Worth, TX

(Bridge Hunter; no Historic Bridges; 3D Satellite)

FWWR = Fort Worth & Western Railroad

I've learned that the Trinity River flows through both Fort Worth and Dallas. The wooden Santa Fe trestle in Dallas has been abandoned. But BNSF is still using wood bents here.

David Hawkins That is an empty BNSF coal that was in storage on the FWWR due to the downturn in the economy.
Jan Hennessey I've never seen the Trinity River when it was blue - always brown in the 10 years I lived in Ft. Worth. Blue sure is an improvement....

The Fort Worth & Western's Cresson Turn heads across the West Fork of the Trinity River as it begins its trip south out of Fort Worth, Texas. A five pack of EMD's power the long train, with four of the FWWR's newly acquired SD60M's, all freshly painted in the railroad's blue and yellow scheme.

I wonder how often the town has to worry about those levees holding.
