1911 McKellar Lift Bridge in Thunder Bay, ON

The screenshots of the double deck Strauss drawbridge have been moved to "1913 CP Jackknife Bridge in Thunder Bay, ON."

The Strauss drawbridge to McKellar Island has two decks and the top deck carried a road. That road has been removed. So when I looked to see how workers got to the few industries still left on the island, I found this rolling bridge. Here the vehicle deck is next to the railroad deck.

You can clearly see how the pinion moves along a horizontal rack as the bridge rolls back to lift the span.
