Trail/Aban/NYC Bridge over State Street in Fort Wayne, IN

(Satellite)

I find it interesting that new road and rail bridges typically use girders now days, but the lighter loads of pedestrians and bikes are using trusses.

I think the main purpose of the project was to remove the curve that was put in State Street so that they could cross the Spy Run Creek at 90 degrees and to widen the road.

Building a new bridge that crosses the creek on an angle so that State Street is straight would explain why there was so much construction equipment in these Jun 2019 views.
