This bridge was replaced by the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge in 1978 and then torn down in 1980.
HAER WVA,54-PARK,6--1 VIEW OF CENTER SPAN AND SUPPORT - Parkersburg Suspension Bridge, Spanning Ohio River between Parkersburg, WV & Belpre, OH, Parkersburg, Wood County, WV [This is the worst HAER report that I have seen. It has only this one photograph and the written part consists of one word: "PHOTOGRAPHS". And with just one word, they managed to make a mistake because they used the plural form of the word.] Bridges Now and Then posted The Parkersburg Suspension Bridge over the Ohio River, 1973. Digitized by Goggle, p914 [The main span was 775' long with a clearance of 90' above low water.] |
