When Hill Construction replaced the 1926 bridge in 1992, they chose to do a modern version of  the overhead counterweight design. I wonder if this is the only modern version of this design in the world. I wonder if the main reason to replace the bridge was to get rid of the wood trestle we see in the HAER photos.
