1930-2022+2021 Wittpenn Bridges over Hackensack River at Jersey City, NJ

The 1930 bridge is in the foreground and the background lift bridge is the Conrail/Pennsy freight bridge. Peaking out near the left is the PATH/Pennsy passenger bridge.

Kevin Lagasse: Is the bridge on the right replacing the one in the middle?

I'm saving a satellite image  because the 1930 bridge with its curved truss will be disappearing.

The above is what showed up on my desktop. The following is what I saw on my laptop. This is the first time I have noticed a difference. Note that the laptop view has the temporary construction trestles with a crane on the east trestle. The crane is why I noticed the views were different.

A comparable view that shows how the replacement bridge was built upstream of the 1930 bridge.

The towers of the 1930 bridge frame the left column of the 2021 tower. We also see the first two of Pennsy's three crossings of the river (PATH+Conrail). And in the far left background is the Pulaski Skyway Bridge over the Hackensack River.

This is the post that motivated finishing these notes.
