Boner Bridge, the oldest iron bridge in IndianaLocated in Southern Indiana, in USA, Boner Bridge is one of the most spectacular bridges in the world. Only 5 bridges like it are left in existence. It’s 256ft long. This metal bridge, also known as Pyeatt's Mill Bridge, was built in 1869 by the King Bridge Company. The one-lane, iron bow, string-trussed bridge is traversed by the Boner Road. It’s the longest bridge of its kind in Indiana and also supremely rare. It is still in use by local traffic today. This iron bowstring bridge crosses the Little Pigeon Creek river. The weight limit is 8 Tons. This bridge is listed as the oldest iron bridge in Indiana that remains in its original location. It serves to connect Warrick County and Spencer County.

"The Boners were land owners to the west and north in the 1880 Warrick County atlas, Nathan Pyeatt had property at the time there too. In the 1899 atlas it appears the Boners had expanded and the Pyeatts had left. (on the Warrick side anyway)" [yosh6654 comment on ArchivedBridgeHunter]
"I mean sure it's more fun to say it the way the spelling would suggest. But the family name was actually pronounced as if another N was present." [Tony Dillon comment on ArchivedBridgeHunter]
"I was happy to see a new floor installed on the bridge when I was there last month. The deck that was installed during the rehab in 2006 was in terrible shape apparently due to the wood being too green and not properly seasoned. It had warped and split and was getting almost dangerous to drive on." [Tony Dillon comment on ArchivedBridgeHunter]
