BNSF Bridge over the Puyallup River in Tacoma, WA

(Bridge Hunter, Street View)

3D Satellite
The video says the bridge is in Puyallup, WA; but that bridge is double tracked. I'm sure the bridge in the video is this one in Tacoma, WA. (A comment confirmed that.)

(new window) Talk about "using a bigger hammer." They replaced a Hi-Rail truck with three locomotives. I'm sure one locomotive would have been enough. But they probably had the 3-locomotive set in the yard, and it was easier to use the set rather than take apart the MU connections to get just one locomotive. If you want to "cut to the chase," they start moving the log at 1:53. All three locomotives were still painted as BN, so these are local yard units. A comment points out it is a log pile, not a log jam.

Street View
The street view link at the top and this one show a more normal water level.

Zack Boon comented that the locomotives are: "Left to right its a GP38-2, GP39M, GP39-2."
