1874 Chicago Fire

Nairrot Arabrab Franklin posted
The 1871 Chicago Fire is so famous, that I don't plan to write much about it. But this is the first that I have heard of a big 1874 fire.

Nairrot's comment:
I never knew there was a second Chicago fire in 1874! The area shaded in black I believe is where the fire did its damage.
Note that some of the biggest buildings in Chicago were  grain elevators. Both on the north end of the Illinois Central tracks and over along the South Branch. Also, about everything we see would have been built in just three years, 1871-74!
